Diagnosis- Type II bovine aortic arch
Pointers- (aortogram with pigtail catheter)
1. Left common carotid is arising from the right brachicepalic artery- bovine aortic arch.
2. The right brachiocephalic artery is arising between the horizontal lines at upper and lower borders of the aortic arch- type II aortic arch. (type I- above the upper margin line, type III- below the lower margin line)

bovine arch is actually a misnomer which is widely used in the medical field. though this is being called bovine arch, the actual aortic arch in cattle is different.

the bovine arch as described in humans is when the left common carotid has a common origin with the innominate artery, though some literature mentions it as a bovine arch when the left common carotid artery originates directly from the innominate artery rather than as a common trunk
